So, the countdown to Highland March 6 Begins... A little over 5 weeks remain until we start our annual stroll in aid of charity, and it must be said that the support for this years causes has been superb.
With Inverness Caledonian Thistle certain to finish in the bottom 6 of the Scottish Premier League, the routes to choose from have been reduced. A further reduction of 2 more routes will be confirmed once the battle to 6th place is confirmed, as Hearts, Falkirk and Aberdeen battle it out this coming weekend (5th/6th April 08) for the honour of battling for Europe.
The uncertainty around the future of Gretna FC and their poor season has consigned the former Dr Martins League team to relegation to the Scottish 1st Division - something ICT fans can be pleased about after their own poor season - yet ICT can still finish as high as 7th come the last day of the season. The walk to the last game of the Scottish football calender may not be a title decider like that of HM2, or provide us with a walk to Parkhead or Ibrox this time out, but with 5 weeks remaining, the Marchers are still going to give their all in aid of Charity.
Many companies and individuals have pledged their money, time and support towards this 6th Annual event, with special mention to Mary at Virgin Vie for her assistance in organising a fundraiser outside the Main event. Special thanks is further extended to Annette of Glenmorangie for her invitaition, warm welcome and donation at the Distilary Shop, and also Darren and Liz at ICT's Commercial and Conferencing team for their behind the scenes efforts at the club.
Work is continuing in the gym, on the road and behind the scenes to make this Highland March the best yet. It is certainly going to be a hard task, but one that every member of the team are going to grasp with both hands. As the classic HM saying goes - Never Give Up. Never, Ever, Give Up....
