Virgin Vie help HM Cause

Money has been contnuing to come in for HighlandMarch.co.uk's chosen charities. With the Virgin Vie Fundraiser - organised by Virgin Vie at home, Kaper Hair and Beauty and HighlandMarch.co.uk - we were able to gain over £400 in one night alone for the final funds total.

www.caleythistleonline.com moderator and HM Web designer, CaleyD, put himself through the pain barrier with a taster into Body Waxing. With a target of £700 for the Job Lot, the monies raised through sponsorship and donations saw him get both his Arms and both his Legs fully waxed.
Admittedly, he belived the experience to be weird, yet not as painful as people had led him to belive, yet hearing such drivel from a grown man who is trying to avoid pain is something to behold.

A good friend to the Highland March, Virgin Mary, assisted the evening by showing the ladies amongst the group how best to apply their beauty products. Grabbing a volenteer from the group, Mary and her colleague Fiona demonstrated which of their products were best to use together and how to apply them evenly. Granted, most of the Highland Marchers have no idea about cosmetics, yet a few tins of FootFizz have been known to float around the troops.

Those who bought tickets for this first fundraiser outside the 'Main Event' appeared to enjoy themselves, and duely obliged in delving into their purses to purchase a few items. Cameras were on hand for photos of 'WaxMan', and it has been muttered that this event may also turn out to be an annual Highland March fundraiser - Major's Yompa and Jnr beware, as you guys are up for the vote for Next yeras waxing!!!

The girls from Kaper Hair and Beauty (High Street, Inverness) were very professonal in such a humourous atmosphere. Despite doing some fundraisers before, they had not had the opertunity to complete a Full Body Wax. Dissapointment continued for them as even though over £300 was raised for the waxing, it was a far cry away from the £700 target which was set by CaleyD. Perhaps next year they may get their chance.

So onto the Main Event in the coming days, and the troops are really looking forward to what has been the least stressful Highland March to organise so far. Focus Car and Van hire group have again come up tumps to supply the Clan with their Support Bus, Bryan Munro - Inverness CT's Programme Editor - has again offered an article in an effort to increase donations, with the Falkirk Herald and Press and Journal also offering Media Coverage. The £3,500 target is not unrealistic and everyone involved with the Highland March wishes to express gratitude to EVERYONE for their new and continued help, suport and charitable donations towards the Highland March.... Onwards and Upwards!!!
